757 Music Icon Timbaland Receives BGCSEVA Ambassador Letterman Jacket, Custom Youth Plaque, and Key to the City of Virginia Beach during Timbaland Weekend

Virginia Beach, VA - Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia (BGCSEVA) proudly joined the City of Virginia Beach for a historic three-day celebration honoring Grammy Award–winning producer, artist, and hometown legend Timbaland during “Timbaland Weekend,” October 17–19. The weekend recognized the global impact of one of Virginia Beach’s most influential creatives while highlighting his continued commitment to uplifting local youth.

The celebration included Timbaland returning to Salem High School, reconnecting with students, and sharing memories of his early days creating beats in its iconic red lockers. His visit inspired thousands of teens across the city with a powerful message: use what you have to chase your dreams.

During Timbaland Weekend, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia proudly hosted a pep rally at the Rosemont Club and participated alongside hundreds of residents, students, and community partners in the Timbaland Parade. Over the weekend, BGCSEVA presented Timbaland with two special recognitions:

A custom BGCSEVA Ambassador Letterman Jacket, honoring his decades of positive impact on Virginia Beach youth and his leadership as a role model within the community.

A custom BGCSEVA Gold Record Plaque, celebrating his achievements and his continued commitment to opening pathways for young people across the region.

In partnership with Truist Bank, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia was also honored to receive a $20,000 contribution to support teen scholarships for two Club members who attend Salem High School. The remainingfunds will expand access to Boys & Girls Club programs, leadership development, career exposure, and college-readiness opportunities.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Virginia are proud to have played a meaningful role in honoring Timbaland’s legacy during this historic weekend. His return home reinforces the mission of Boys & Girls Club of Southeast Virginia, which is to "enable all youth to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens."
